| Q. |
What do I do if I see an error in the data? |
| A. |
First check that the source of the data is correct. For example, the list of students by class can only be as accurate as the TRA file it pulls from. If the data coming from your school appears to be incorrect, contact Gayle Enlow(genlow@phila.k12.pa.us) with a description of the error. |

| Q. |
What does 'Test Level' mean? |
| A. |
This field generally equates with the grade level in which the students were enrolled when they took the test. For example, the DIBELS test levels are K, 1, 2, and 3, and a student's test level will be equal to the grade level in which they are enrolled.
On the Terra Nova, however, Test Level indicates the version of the test that was taken by a student. Generally, students in the 5th grade took level 14 in the spring TerraNova and level 13 in the Fall administration. That is, most 5th graders. There are always some students who take out of grade level test levels. |

| Q. |
What does 'Total Unique' mean? |
| A. |
This is the total number of students who are reflected in a report column or row. If this number does not equal the row or column total, it means that some students are double counted. For example, if you run a program report, it is likely that some students may be in multiple programs.

| Q. |
Why are the Benchmark Item Analysis results blank for some students in my class when I know they took the test? |
| A. |
There are many reasons why this could be the case:
1) The student was absent on the day the test was administered. 2) The student took an out of grade level benchmark. Each homeroom is associated with the grade level of the students enrolled in the class, and the item analysis report will default to showing benchmark results from that same grade level. Try changing the "grade" drop down box on the item analysis report to the grade level of the benchmark taken by your students if it is different from their enrollment grade level. 2) Online test takers: The student was new to the district as of a few weeks prior to the benchmark, and so their data (name, student id, school enrollment, teacher, homeroom number) had not yet been sent to SchoolNet from the District. You probably added this student "on the fly" in the Homeroom system, and the results for that child can be seen in mylearningaccess.com only. 3) Offline test takers: The student filled in their last and first name and DOB on their bubblesheet innaccurately and so they could not be "matched" to a student ID in the Philadelphia data. That is, the child used a nick name or perhpas put today's date in the DOB field and the bubble sheet, once scanned, could not be loaded to a student record in SchoolNet. This child's results are available in Homeroom only. |

| Q. |
Why are the benchmark results for my entire class not showing up in Align's Item Analysis Report? |
| A. |
The Princeton Review collects tens of thousands of bubble sheets from regional offices the day after a benchmark test is administered. Scanning these bubble sheets takes up to five business days. TPR works very hard to scan all the bubble sheets region by region, and each night the results are sent to SchoolNet. Your whole class's results might be blank becuase TPR has not yet scanned the bubble sheets from your region. If other classes in your region or school have results but your class does not, it could be that your homeroom's bubblesheets got separated from your region's pile! |

| Q. |
Why can't I run a report on PSSA section level reports? |
| A. |
Performance Levels are only available for the overall Reading and Math section level. At the strand level (Learning to Read Independently, for example) there are no groupings that would enable aggregate reporting. Student profiles do contain strand level scores, however (points acheieved vs. points possible is displayed) |

| Q. |
Why does the Number of Students Enrolled in my school/class seem too high? |
| A. |
If in Account, you filter to the number of students enrolled in a partiuclar school in a particular year, you will see the the number of students who have been enrolled in your school or class at any point in time during the course of the year. That is, if a student enrolls in September and leaves for a different school in December, they will be counted in your Number of Students Enrolled.
The same is true for a classroom. A teacher might show 25 kids in her class, but only 20 are there currently beucase 5 came and left at some point during the year.
We don't want to delete students from a teacher's class or from a school becuase some amount of instruction took place for that student while enrolled, and the record of the student's performance while under your school's instruction should be maintained.
For example, some marks might have been give to that child while enrolled in your school, the DIBELS might have been administered, and in some cases, even the PSSA might have been taken and we would not want to lose track of the fact that they were under your school's instructional guidance during that time.
In Align, when viewing your class lists, to see only the students enrolled at that point of time, make sure you have clicked the "are currently enrolled in this course" radio button at the top of the page.
In Account, when you define a student set, you can choose an "Enrollment" filter type and specify the specific dates of enrollment of the students you wish to view.

| Q. |
Why is my homeroom split into several parts? |
| A. |
In the School Computer Network, each student is assigned to a grade level. When your homeroom has students who are assigned to varying grade levels, SchoolNet must split your homeroom into several "homerooms" electronically, one for each grade level represented. This enables SchoolNet to link the PA standards for the proper grade level to the proper students! |

| Q. |
Why isn't a teacher at my school listed in Account Class Reports? |
| A. |
1) The teacher has not yet been associated with a homeroom number in the Teacher Room Assignment (TRA) system at http://www.phila.k12.pa.us/teachers/. To do this successfully, Human Resources may need to add that teacher's name to the TRA system first! 2) The teacher has been associated with the proper homeroom number in the TRA system but SchoolNet has not received an updated TRA file 3) The teacher is not that child's Teacher of Record. Only teachers who report grades will be listed because that is how the system matches students with teachers. For example, an elementary music teacher or reading specialist will not be listed as their students‘ teacher; only the homeroom teacher is. 4) Pathfinder Schools: High Schools which roster kids using Pathfinder will see teacher names in SchoolNet (usually the teacher's last name and first initial SMITH, J.) which are associated with a subject/sections in Pathfinder. |
