The District has selected SchoolNet to provide all schools and regional offices access to an open web-based Instructional Management System (IMS) for disseminating the core curriculum.
This IMS system will also provide teachers, principals and central office administrators access to online
- Benchmark Assessment tools
- District and third party vendor developed instructional materials
- Communication and collaboration tools
- A variety of tools to monitor student progres
The SchoolNet solution provides a unifying framework for the District’s curriculum initiatives and strategies. Through logging onto SchoolNet, all teachers and District staff will have anywhere access to the District’s curriculum and instructional resources.
Within SchoolNet‘s Instructional Planning Module known as Align, teachers have access to student data to diagnose student strengths and weaknesses, monitor curriculum coverage, and identify student groups for differentiated lesson planning and support. Using the online assessment module, Central Administrators can create and disseminate Benchmark assessments to closely monitor student mastery in Literacy and Math. Benchmark assessments provide classroom teachers with a timely update of students’skills and needs.
SchoolNet further provides administrators and teachers access to a robust data reporting tool known as Account. Account provides online desktop access to - Student demographic data
- Student grades
- Student special program enrollments
- Standardized test scores (PSSA, Terranova, DIBELS),
- Benchmark test scores
- Student attendance data.
Administrators and teachers can easily create customized reports based on the need for specific types of analyses. The various data can be aggregated and disaggregated a variety of ways to provide detailed views of trends at the District, region, school, classroom and individual student level.
Recognizing the importance of system wide communication this Instructional Management System also provides communication and collaboration tools. This module, known as Outreach includes:
- Shared calendars
- Threaded discussion forums
- Web page building functions for school and teacher webpages
- Links to other websites and District web based applications
